How does the product work?

The Care Cover Protection Gel is designed as a sacrificial product. This means it leaves a micro layer on the leather surface when applied that is invisible and can’t be felt. It traps dirt, grime, perspiration and liquids as they come in contact with the leather. These foreign substances then sit on the layer of Protection Gel, but don’t soak into the leather. When cleaning the leather, the gel cleans away with the dirt and grime leaving the surface clean and ready for a new application of Protection Gel.

Should I clean the leather before applying the Protection Gel?

Yes. The Gel is designed to sit invisibly on the clear top coat of the leather to protect it. It is important to clean the leather first using the Care Cover Leather Cleaner. This ensures dirt and grime isn’t trapped or rubbed into the leather when applying the Protection Gel.

How often do I need to apply this?

Apply every 2-3 months or each time following cleaning of the leather.

Apply a liberal amount of leather balm to a clean microfiber cloth.
Rub the moistened cloth briskly over the entire leather surface. Pay particular attention to the wear areas of furniture and any areas that are affected by direct sunlight or have scratches or scuffs.
Leave the leather to dry.
Repeat steps 1-3 on any areas that require extra attention.
Use every 2-3 months or as required for dry and scratched areas.

Tips:

This product may darken the area when applied as it nourishes and absorbs into the leather.
For scratches and scuff marks, apply the product liberally and with a very brisk rubbing action to assist in getting the oils and waxes into the marked areas.
