What stains can I remove with the Fabric Cleaner?
Any stain can be tackled with this product. Most stains are likely a result of spilt food or drink, or cosmetic products or dirt. The active ingredients work by breaking down the elements of the stain and removing it from the fabric fibres. Repeated application will help to remove stubborn stains. If stains are a result of paint, dye or ink, it is unlikely these can be removed because the fibres of the fabric will have been impregnated with colour and are not attached to particles.
Can I use the Fabric Cleaner to clean a whole sofa?
No. The Fabric Spot Cleaner is designed to remove specific stains on a specific location. Due to the absorbent nature of fabric upholstery, it is not practical to hand clean the entire surface. We recommend having a professional cleaning technician provide this service.
Are there harsh chemicals in the product?
No. This is a water-based product with eco friendly active ingredients. There are no petro, oil or toxic chemicals used in any Care Cover products. The product is safe to handle, does not give off any odour and not classified as dangerous goods. We still recommend to avoid contact with eyes and, like any cleaning product, should not be consumed.
Will it strip colour out of the fabric upholstery?
No. The product is designed to break down the particles of foreign substances and detach them from the fibres of the fabric. It will not strip out colour, however we do recommend always testing on a hidden area before using on a stain to ensure there are no adverse effects and that the fabric is colour-fast.
Can I spray the product directly onto a stain?
Yes. We recommend spraying the product onto a dampened microfibre cloth first and dabbing the stained area with the cloth to test its effectiveness on the stain. If the stain isn’t completely removed, you can spray the product directly onto the affected area to further break down the stain from the fabric.
Do I need to do anything else to the fabric once a stain is removed?
Yes. It is important to remove any residue of the cleaning solution from the surface of the fabric. This can be done by rinsing the cloth in clean water and dabbing the treated area to absorb and wipe out the cleaning liquid. Repeat this action, continually rinsing the cloth in clean water until all of the cleaner is removed from the surface, then allow to dry.
