Does the product have an odour?

No, this product is odour free, helping to nourish your leather without an odour being released.

What types of leather can the products be used on?

It is designed to return the waxes and oils to wax pull-up leathers.  These are non-finished leather and have a mild waxy finish and often show light scratches in the surface.  Typical products that use this type of leather include furniture, shoes and bags.

The Care Cover Leather Balm should not be used on finished leather, suede or nubuck.

 

How does the continuous spray bottle work?

This new spray technology allows pressured air to fill the bottle when the trigger is sprayed a few times.  The result is an even mist of product that continues to spray after the trigger is released.  A few compressions of the trigger every now and then keeps the product spraying which allows large areas to be covered quickly without drips or mess.  The bottle even works upside down for hard to reach areas.

Should I clean the leather before applying the balm?

It will be difficult to thoroughly clean a waxed leather surface because the leather does not have a clear topcoat finish.  This allows liquid to quickly absorb into the leather.  The waxes and oils used to treat the leather in the manufacturing process help prevent liquids from absorbing too much.  The Care Cover Leather Balm returns these waxes and oils to the leather as they dry out over time.

How often do I need to apply this?

Apply every 2 to 3 months or as required for dry and scratched areas.

  1. Apply a liberal amount of leather balm to a clean microfiber cloth.
  2. Rub the moistened cloth briskly over the entire leather surface. Pay particular attention to the wear areas of furniture and any areas that are affected by direct sunlight or have scratches or scuffs.
  3. Leave the leather to dry.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 on any areas that require extra attention.
  5. Use every 2-3 months or as required for dry and scratched areas.

Tips:

  • This product may darken the area when applied as it nourishes and absorbs into the leather.
  • For scratches and scuff marks, apply the product liberally and with a very brisk rubbing action to assist in getting the oils and waxes into the marked areas.
